Adventures at Catalina Island- September 2026

September was yet another month of fun and cool experiences. Our scouts journeyed to Catalina Island for a 2-day camping trip. Catalina Island in Los Angeles County, California offers a variety of things to do, including backpacking, ziplining, dolphin sightseeing, undersea tours, and more!

The crew woke up before dawn on Saturday to catch a ferry in San Pedro that would take them to a small, rustic village known as Two Harbors. With loaded packs on their backs, they embarked on a grueling 7 mile hike to their campsite and spotted some bison along the way. After the long journey, they reached Little Harbors in the afternoon and set up camp.

On Sunday, the crew swam, snorkeled, and saw cool fish in the Pacific Ocean. They also had fun comparing their tans. Later in the day, it rained, so they sought shelter in their tents to play card games. On Monday morning, they made the return hike back to Two Harbors. Their adventure was capped with a celebration of lunch and ice cream before sailing back to the mainland and returning home. What an eventful labor day weekend for Troop 226!
