Scouts traveled to Indian Cove Campground on Friday evening, arriving after 8:30 P.M. Camp sites had been reserved for sites 63 to 67, to be shared with Crew 324 from La Mesa and Crew 2222 from Arizona. The rock walls adjacent to camp were lit up by a bright moon in the waning gibbous phase.
On Saturday morning, after breakfast, the scouts received a climbing safety briefing followed by climbing instruction. The scouts worked as a trio, with one scout climbing, one scout belaying, and the third scout acting as a backup belayer. They rotated through the positions so that each scout that wanted to climb could have a turn.
Climbing activities continued after lunch, with scouts able to choose between more climbing / belaying, rock scrambling with a buddy, or scrambling up to another point on the rock ridge, where they could rappel back down to camp. They engaged in all activities along with Crew 324 and Crew 2222.
After dinner, Crew 324 representatives created a campfire and the three groups enjoyed time by the fire. Troop 226 scouts had created a skit and performed that for the other participants. The Crews did not perform skits (they were staying through Monday and had a formal campfire planned for Sunday night), but they enjoyed the performance from Troop 226 scouts. Scouts roasted marshmallows over the camp fire and enjoyed the fellowship. Most turned in just after 9:30 P.M.
On Sunday, scouts made and ate breakfast while breaking down the campsite. After breakfast, the tree scouts conducted a campout SSC activity before departing for home at 9:00 A.M.
